"Labor of Love" Blog Hop

You know that saying: "You plan. God laughs."

Well, I guess God must be having a good chuckle at my expense because I had lots planned for this coming fall. I even had an entirely different blog post planed for this hop. My plans included a cover reveal this week for my upcoming romantic suspense, THE DEVIL'S BEDPOST, and a release of a holiday treat this coming season. Those were my "labors of love" that kept me busy this summer.

However, on Monday night, August 31st, I received news that would throw a big, fat monkey wrench into my plans. The publisher of 4 of my books will be closing. What does this all mean?
  1. The books I had with SCP have been pulled down from all retail sites and are no longer available for purchase
  2. I will unfortunately have to put my current writing projects on hold, including my planned release for my romantic suspense spin-off, THE DEVIL'S BEDPOST
While it's a sad and hectic time for them, it's also a frantic and stressful time for the many authors now scrambling to figure out what to do next. Myself included. While I'm in the process of getting all the rights back to those books, I will be taking the time to look through each book so that I can ensure what I put back up will represent the best of my work. So just please bare with me while I re-strategize and sort through this mess.

In the meantime, enjoy the "Labor of Love" blog hop (including a quick first look into my novel, THE DEVIL'S BEDPOST!), join the fun on Facebook, and enter the Rafflecopter giveaway to win some pretty sweet prizes.

Happy September!
From sweet to dark, divas of romance work their fingers to the bone for your reading pleasure in the Labor of Love Bloghop from 9/4-9/6. Come join me and enter to win a Kindle with new, heart-pounding titles just for you!

(unedited excerpt)

Athena straightened and arranged the short strands of her hair back into place. With one last glance at the mirror, she turned to face him. “How do I look?”

“Naked.”

“I have on stockings.”

Davie lifted a brow then stared pointedly at her breasts. “No one’s going to be looking at your legs.”

“Funny.” She took a step back and placed her hands on her hips. “But really, how do I look?”

“Seriously, Tena. That dress is nothing but trouble and you’re not leaving here in that. Now could you go put on more clothes so we can leave?”

She rolled her eyes. “Stop being a prude. And stop telling me what to do. I’ll take that frown of yours and pretend it’s a compliment. So thank you for telling me that I’m sexy and the most beautiful woman you’ve seen tonight.”

“You know you’re sexy. I know you’re sexy. You don’t need me to tell you that.”

But you don’t say it enough.

Though to his credit, he always made her feel desirable. There was always a simmering hunger in his silver gray eyes whenever he looked at her and it didn’t matter what she had on. Even after a year, they still went at it like rabbits. Yet as much as he loved and wanted her, she still craved to hear the words.

“Beside, you don’t need to be showing every guy out there what I have and what they’re missing.”

She smiled softly then reached out and slowly stroked the side of his neck. “Don’t worry, baby. I’ll make sure everyone knows this all belongs to you.”

Desire flared bright in his eyes as she continued her light caress. She knew all his hot buttons and didn’t mind pushing them. At least for a little while.

“Guess what I’m wearing?”

He lifted a brow. She hiked up her skirt and he glanced down then let out a low curse. Her black thigh-high stockings were wrapped around her thighs like a second skin and held together with thin garters.

Without warning, he looped his arm around her waist and jerked her to him. “What are you trying to do to me?”

She curled her arms around his neck. “Nothing. Just giving you a preview of what you’ll be getting tonight.”

He groaned. “I can’t wait that long.”

I have heard about the pub closing and news like that can be devastating but it can also mean opportunity. Opportunity to refresh, take chances and try new things.

It is rare to see books start with the couples already involved. Interesting.

The excerpt is wonderful. Too bad about all the publisher drama. Maybe you can write that into your next novel. Have a great rest of the month.
